Capturing Earth’s awesome power and the solitude of wilderness.
EDX’s work at Lassen Volcanic National Park showcases a full range of our capabilities. EDX was first asked to design exhibits for Lassen’s Platinum LEED-certified visitor center that opened in 2008. We created an abstracted volcanic core that draws visitors in and becomes the centerpiece of the exhibits highlighting the legacy of dramatic volcanic activity at the park.
The following year, Lassen began a long-range interpretive planning process facilitated by EDX. Working with a wide range of stakeholders, including associated American Indian tribes, we reframed the park’s interpretive themes to make them as captivating and relevant as possible. Because Lassen competes with other nationally recognized parks and landmarks in Northern California, the park also sought to distinguish itself in the crowded marketplace. EDX explored a variety of ways for the park to increase its visibility, attract new audiences, and increase stewardship among those who already know and love the park.
